Whilst the 27th climate change conference is underway in Egypt, Milligan is joining forces with other UKGBC members for a day of action on social media. UKGBC has encouraged all members to stand up for Net Zero and ask the government to keep it central to their agenda so progress can be accelerated.
As we approach COP27, the science is clear; we need bold action now to avert some of the direst impacts of the Climate Crisis. While there will always be domestic challenges for governments and organisations to manage, they should not divert attention from this critical issue, which underpins many of our challenges at home.
Therefore, COP27 is a time for our industry to demonstrate to government and other industries that we see Net Zero as a crucial facet of our work going forward.
The built environment is responsible for 25% of all the UK’s emissions and whilst there has been progress in the sector support is still needed from government in order to bring a nationwide Net Zero transformation at speed and scale.
