Backing Torbay on the World Stage

This week, Torquay hosts the ICF SUP World Cup and Paddle UK Festival – an international event bringing elite stand-up paddleboard athletes together with a wider programme of community participation, coastal activity and celebration.

With racing taking place along Torquay’s seafront, the festival not only showcases world-class sport, but also highlights the natural assets that make Torbay such a distinctive destination. It draws visitors, supports local businesses and puts the Bay firmly on the global stage.

We’re proud to be supporting the event as sponsors. For us, it’s part of a broader commitment to the area as a long-term regeneration partner. Events like this are not standalone moments, they play an important role in building confidence, shifting perception and creating energy around a place.

In Torbay, that growing confidence is increasingly visible. Investment in public realm, infrastructure and development opportunities is starting to reshape how the Bay is experienced and understood, both locally and externally. High-quality events reinforce that progress, bringing new audiences and amplifying the story of a place that is evolving.

As developers, we see first-hand how regeneration and activation go hand in hand. Physical change creates the platform, but it’s moments like these, when places are animated, celebrated and shared, that bring them to life.

The ICF SUP World Cup and Paddle UK Festival is exactly that kind of moment. It reflects the Bay’s potential, its ambition, and the direction of travel as Torbay continues to build momentum for the future.
