HARVEY NICHOLS is transforming its Birmingham store, which will see it double in size to over 45,000 square-feet by 2015. The retailer will remain housed within the city’s Mailbox shopping centre, where it has occupied a small space on the first floor since 2001.
“We firmly believe our participation in this redevelopment will underline our commitment to Birmingham and its shoppers – it is a testimony to our success in the city as well as the success of the city itself,” said Harvey Nichols chief execuive Joseph Wan. “The new store will enable us to greatly expand for our customers the best of fashion, beauty, accessories and food and to continue bringing them the very best in luxury and service well into the future.”
The company’s new shop will be moved to the shopping centre’s former post-room space, which has recently been used to host catwalk shows. The store will offer shoppers expanded menswear and personal shopping areas, categories that have recently been performing above expectations.
