Since 2021, Milligan has played a key role in The John Lewis Partnership’s BTR client team, providing strategic oversight and guiding project teams through every stage of upcoming developments. This includes overseeing design and planning, conducting financial appraisals, and managing affordable housing initiatives.
Recently, after securing approval to transform a Waitrose site in South London near Bromley South rail station, a new planning application was submitted to Reading Borough Council. This proposal aims to convert a former distribution warehouse into much-needed rental housing.
The John Lewis Partnership’s planned regeneration of the Reading site represents an investment of over £80 million. The project will deliver 215 high-quality, energy-efficient homes, alongside 6,000 sq ft of internal amenity space, which includes areas for community use, two new external garden spaces, and enhancements to the public realm.
