Earlier this week LSH and Revo launched their 5th annual research report: ‘Places & Spaces Reinvented: what is the future for our towns, high streets & shopping centres?’.
Dr. Steve Norris (LSH Executive Director and National Head of Planning, Regeneration + Infrastructure ) presented the headline findings of the research with Vivienne King (Revo Board Member).
Milligan’s Tarah Gear then joined a panel discussion alongside other voices from the industry discussing the future of our centres; covering everything from good practice examples of regeneration & repurposing, to how we can deliver more social/affordable homes in our cities and towns. Tarah shared details of Milligan’s work with the John Lewis Partnership, Torbay Council and Willmott Dixon and our regeneration partnership with Urban Splash in Swansea. Across all these projects we’re repurposing excess retail, introducing more town centre living and improving public realm.
The panel followed the keynote speaker, Richard Lawrence (Director of City Development – City of Wolverhampton Council) who showcased the many exciting regeneration and infrastructure projects transforming the City.
Over 100 people from across the industry joined the session at the Hallam Conference Centre with a further 250 who were watching online. The report will be available in the next few weeks and you can pre https://bit.ly/3Q170wf
