Milligan is working as a strategic commercial partner with Telford Homes on the regeneration and revitalisation of The Chrisp Street Market estate. Located in the heart of Poplar, it acts as a vital district centre providing goods and services for the local community across a wide area. It includes a 80 stall market. It was the first pedestrianised shopping area in the UK, rebuilt as part of the 1951 Festival of Britain and is served by two DLR stops, All Saints and Langdon Park.

The redevelopment plans include for over 640 residential units which will be a mixture of affordable housing and private rented housing that reconnect the site with its surrounding area. There will be over 200,000 sq ft of commercial space including a vibrant independent retail and leisure offer, a new and improved market, as well as new community amenities. The site falls within the Lansbury Conservation Area and has a number of listed buildings adjacent to the site. Key heritage assets like The Clock Tower, the Ideas Store, and  the Festival of Britain residential and retail buildings will be retained on site alongside new buildings and enhanced public realm.  A large proportion of traders will remain trading during the redevelopment which will be delivered in several phases over a number of years

Milligan is working with Telford homes to define and deliver the retail and commercial strategy to create a new district centre that can be used by the existing and fast expanding community in Tower Hamlets.
